Unlocking the I2I Academy’s Resources

There’s no doubt that everyone’s New Year’s resolution at education preparation programs (EPPs) across Texas is to use the Insight to Impact Dashboards more frequently. A complementary resource for Texas EPPs of all sizes, the Insight to Impact Academy is designed to empower EPPs to help create actionable data, implement practical protocols, and provide robust support for continuous improvement.

Getting started with the Insight to Impact Academy is straightforward and designed to support EPPs at every step. So, let’s take a gander at how you can immediately incorporate these resources from the Insight to Impact Academy into your workflow in the checklist below:

  1. Visit and Bookmark the Academy Website:
Head directly to https://insighttoimpact.tea.texas.gov, save it to your Favorites and review the numerous resources available there.
  2. Learn how to Request Access to the Dashboards:
You will find instructions on the Academy’s site to help you request access and identify the right role for you. The I2I Dashboards Team also has produced a simple instructional video that walks users through this process.
  3. Explore Quick Start Guides and Tutorials:
The Quick Start Guide and short video tutorials can help you get oriented right away. An EPP staff member can use these resources to ensure they can independently pull data for program reports and reviews. Staffers can do everything from identifying which exam areas fall below passage rate goals to monitoring patterns in employment, assessing the retention rates of your graduates by district and role, understanding growth outcomes, and reviewing feedback from new teachers and principals to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  4. Connect With Support:
Feel free to reach out directly to the Help Desk for technical or implementation questions. EPPs can access facilitation guides, navigation aids, and direct technical support through the Academy’s Help Desk. For example, a certification offer can submit a Help Desk ticket for guidance on interpreting retention data, receiving personalized support to inform a customized data review.
  5. Join the Community:
Engage with the Dashboard Governance Committee and participate in sign-up events and feedback sessions scheduled on TEA’s Communication Calendar so you can help shape future dashboard features and ensure the tools remain relevant to your needs.
  6. Engage With the I2I Protocols:
The protocols were developed in coordination with users in the field to serve as a step-by-step guide, helping EPPs effectively describe, frame, and analyze data featured in the dashboards. They allow EPPs to move beyond simply viewing data to actively use it to inform and improve their respective programs’ practices.
  7. Implement Actionable Change:
Now is your opportunity to begin incorporating your data findings into your work. A practical example of how EPPs can use the dashboards for continuous improvement is that an EPP can track candidate exam pass rates and identify subpopulations with lower pass rates. By filtering and analyzing this data, the program can target additional support and interventions where they’re most needed.
