Observation Tool Resources
Completely optional, the I2I Observation Tool provides a streamlined, digital interface for Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) to record, track, and report observations, as well as view visualized metrics associated with the observations they enter. The primary objective of the I2I Observation Tool is to bridge the gap between field-based assessments and state-level reporting to drive continuous improvement efforts. It allows field supervisors and EPP administrators to capture real-time evidence of candidate performance using approved rubrics, such as T-TESS, while ensuring that all mandatory data points—including observation duration, settings, and conference dates—are validated against ECOS before final submission.

Uploading and Managing Rubrics
This video provides a step-by-step guide on uploading and managing rubrics. The interface allows for custom domains, dimensions, and rating-level descriptions to be loaded for your EPP. The loaded rubrics can be used by EPP administrators or field supervisors when conducting observation.
Entering Observations
This video provides details about the main feature of the Observation Tool: entering observations. This feature will primarily be used by field supervisors, giving authorized users a streamlined interface to record candidate observation data in real time that is aligned to candidate clinical experience records.
Approving & Submitting Observations
This video provides a summary of the process for reviewing, revising, approving, and submitting observation records. Once an observation has been captured in the tool, the field supervisor will send the record for review. The primary purpose of this feature is to establish a rigorous, quality-control check overseen by EPP administrators.
Navigating the Observation List
This video outlines the purpose and composition of the Observation List. This feature allows field supervisors to view the observation records created and displays the different statuses captured throughout the observation life cycle. It also allows EPP administrators to see all observations created or in progress for their EPP, and it is the entry point for their review of observations that are ready for review.
Bulk Upload of Observations
This video guides EPP administrators through using the mighty bulk upload feature. This powerful, batch-processing option allows EPP administrators to aggregate up to 100 observation records into a single CSV spreadsheet and upload them to the platform simultaneously. The system will instantly unpack your file, validate every individual cell against state records in ECOS and the rubric criteria, and transmit the successful records directly into the I2I Database and ECOS.
